You’ll find amazing baches nestled right on New Zealand’s best beaches, on lake shores, next to rivers, up mountainsides and in forests. There are thousands of baches available to rent throughout the country – the owners lease them out when they are not in use.

Baches in New Zealand can range from an unpretentious one-bedroom house with no electricity or running water, right through to a three-storey, architecturally designed holiday home with numerous bedrooms, a swimming pool and a spa.

Bach owners usually charge per night or week, and include use of all the facilities in the bach (including bedding, kitchen utensils, board games, etc). Tariff usually depends on the number of people staying in the bach, the time of year and the length of stay.
